Brick Lane Jazz Festival returns for its fourth year with yet another mind-expanding &genre-defying line-up that mirrors the vibrant convergence of London’s thriving underground music scenes. The focus, as always, is on spotlighting emerging talent, bringing together artists from jazz, hip-hop, neo-soul, R&B, broken beat, and electronic music, who will perform across twelve iconic music venues on and around Brick Lane.

Toby Corton

Toby Corton is the cash you dream of finding, rolled up, in the inside pocket of a favourite jacket. An Eastend romantic, with a heart for (Soul) music, Tom Robinson (BBC6 Music) referred to as ‘charismatic queer cockney creative’. A tapestry of musical influence and style, Toby has been putting on shows, dancing around kitchens and living rooms since a child, raised on a veritable buffet spread of music.

Audrey Powne

Audrey Powne, a Naarm/Melbourne-born, UK-based artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, is a force in the future jazz and soul scene. Known for her extraordinary technical prowess and creative inventiveness, she blends genres effortlessly—from R&B ballads to cinematic soundscapes—while drawing inspiration from legends like Miles Davis, Roy Hargrove, and D’Angelo.

Neue Grafik

Composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Neue Grafik has been building a strong rep for himself over the past few years, releasing records on labels such as Rhythm Section, 22a, CoOp Presents and Wolf Music. His sound is a hybrid of jazz, house and hip hop, all with his unique geographical flavors of African ethnicity, Parisian roots and a love for London sounds like broken beat & grime thrown into the mix.

Close Counters

Naarm/Melbourne-based ’ diverse soundscape sits at the crossroads of house, neo-soul, broken beat and disco. Their 2023 Music Victoria Award-winning and Australian Music Prize-nominated album, ‘SOULACOASTA II’, is a sample-infused expedition that further secured their spot as one of the top talents in their class, with the duo tirelessly sourcing niche samples from films and records on trips across the globe.

Afriquoi

Afriquoi are an underground sensation, blending African music and live electronics. Their masterful 5-piece live show combines Gambian kora, Congolese guitar, and Mandinka percussion with electronic music influenced by house, garage, disco, soul, and jungle, resulting in something truly unique.
