Brick Lane Jazz Festival returns for its fourth year with yet another mind-expanding &genre-defying line-up that mirrors the vibrant convergence of London’s thriving underground music scenes. The focus, as always, is on spotlighting emerging talent, bringing together artists from jazz, hip-hop, neo-soul, R&B, broken beat, and electronic music, who will perform across twelve iconic music venues on and around Brick Lane.

Over the last decade composer, trumpeter and bandleader Mark Kavuma has established a reputation as an influential figure, performing at the cutting edge of the vibrant London nu-jazz scene. He has released eight albums as leader featuring his original compositions: Kavuma (2018), voted among the best albums of the year by Downbeat magazine, The Banger Factory (2019) Arashi No Ato (2021) Back-to-Back (2022), The Banger Factory – Warriors (2022), Erskine & Kavuma – Ultrasound (2023), The Dandy (2024) and Mark kavuma & The Banger Factory – Magnum Opus 08.11.24.
ORII ORCHESTRA are the official Orii Community house band, formed and developed through weekly jam sessions over the past three years.

Aldorande is a French Jazz-Funk quintet led by Virgile Raaëlli on bass (Setenta, Camarão Orkestra, Joe Bataan) with Florian Pellissier on keyboards (Iggy Pop, Guts, Setenta, Cotonete, Joe Bataan, Di Melo…), Mathieu Edward on drums (Chassol, De La Soul, Setenta, Joe Bataan…), Erwan Loeel on percussion (10LEC6, Camaraõ Orkestra…) & Laurent Guillet on guitars (Setenta, Joe Bataan…).
DjeuhDjoah & Lieutenant Nicholson
Djeuhdjoah & Lieutenant Nicholson are an enchanting French singing duo taking you a journey through jazz, Afrobeat, soul, funk, electro, and reggae. They have just released 2+, a third album continuing their funky journey that began with T’es qui ? in 2015. This album follows their critically acclaimed Aimez ces airs (2019) and serves as a diptych with its exploration of themes from that release.
