Atmos Bloom is a project that began in 2020 with Tilda Gratton and Curtis Paterson in Manchester, UK, through a desire to explore a shared love of dream pop and music they had written. Shortly after the band’s formation, Atmos Bloom’s debut and self-titled EP was released employing lo-fi recording techniques and offering a form of cathartic escapism during troubled times.
The band is heavily inspired by bands such as Beach Fossils, CASTLEBEAT and Fazerdaze with their lo-fi recording techniques and soothing dream pop. Offering a blissful lo-fi soundscape, Atmos Bloom is a perfect bedroom pop record to drift off to at night.
Swiss Portraits DIY – Dream Pop foundations were built by Scottish-born multi–instrumentalist and conceptual artist, Michael Kay Terence. He is joined live by friends: Carron (Bass), Andy (Drums) and Brett (Guitar).
Living in rural Midlothian, Michael keeps a DIY approach – recording, playing, mixing and producing everything himself. Since Swiss Portraits’ birth from lockdown solitude, they have exploded onto the Scottish scene.
After selling out the limited edition cassette of their debut EP “Familiar Patterns” on the day of release, via Z Tapes, and playing a sold-out show at Sneaky Pete’s, they have continued to garner enthusiastic support across BBC Introducing and BBC Scotland.
With their distinctive, dreamy, jangle-pop sound, Swiss Portrait promise to continue making waves.
Community Swimming Pool is the creation of multi-instrumentalist Glasgow-based dreampop musician Bmac. Heartbreaking autobiographical lyrics of depression and failed love paired with shimmering jangle guitars make for excellent dreampop escapism. Having written and recorded his debut single ‘Upside Down’ in one day, it then gained him an audience worldwide and support from numerous international radio stations including BBC Introducing. Back for more with his self-produced second single Number One, the mood is somewhat lightened from the debut, shifting from real-world current affairs to a whirlwind tale of love and the pain endured during efforts to find the right person.
