From Hackney Wick to Ely’s Yard come record shop & DJ collective Rook Records, taking over the booth with everything from jazz and soul through to disco, house and world. Get ready for a genre-hopping journey on the dancefloor!
Rook Records is a Hackney Wick record shop specialising in US vinyl imports of everything from jazz and soul through to disco, house and world music. The founder Jay Rook started the shop in 2016 as an online only platform but since then it has evolved into so much more, including a bricks and mortar shop, club nights, a label and an extensive YouTube channel of DJ sets. As DJs they play all around London and the UK, running a monthly night called Roaming Horizon which focuses on the boarders between Afro-Caribbean music and dance, but you can find them playing anything from deep soul & hip hop to Chicago house. Genre-hopping and good music with no limits is the mantra!
