ABOUT BAOS GRAPH
Born in 1994, Alberto Fossati, aka Baos, grew up in Varese. He discovered at a young age an interest for visual art and he soon become an active member of the local art scene which at the time was majorly influenced by local street artists. His passion lead him to study visual art at the European Institute of Design in Milan, he formalised different techniques that allowed him to bring his imagination to life and so develop his own style. Having harnessed the link between reality and imagination, Baos is now dedicating his time cultivating a more artistic personal research which brunches in different art technique and different mediums. He is currently living in London embracing this challenge and working as a freelance illustrator and artist. Microsoft, D&AD, Creative Debuts, Jordin Jones are some of the brands he collaborated with in the past years.

ABOUT THIS EXHIBITION
The most recent body of work produced by Baos focuses on the interaction between the human body and the forms that have accompanied him on his visual journey since childhood. The representation of a three-dimensional body with flat shapes on different surfaces is Baos' desire to translate volumes and transform them. The shapes on paper find their three-dimensionality through the interaction they have with each other, generating a completely new dynamism and evolving the represented bodies. In this process, the mind is still able to recognise the anthropomorphism of the composition, but it loses all gender representation and becomes a playground for the artist and the viewer to explore.

Laura Braithwaite (seek happy days) is a Nottinghamshire born photographer and creative director. After graduating with a degree in English Language and Linguistics, Laura began to desire creativity and took her career in a different, more artistic, direction. She now works as a full time freelance creative and model in London, striving every day to create something innovative and exciting. Her work aims to exhibit photography as an art form and a tool for storytelling.

Using the medium of digital photography, Laura uses her art to create her own world. This series plays on some of her fascinations as a child: looking for fairies at the end of the garden, of the longing to age into something attractive or otherworldly, and growing up trying to find beauty in the not so beautiful. All photographs in the series were taken and produced on the streets or in the parks of London - yet hold the beauty of somewhere very different. These pieces reflect her stylistic influences well, as she often takes inspiration from vintage editorials and contemporary art.

Nina Fini is a British-Iranian artist based in London. Her visual language explores the juxtaposition of duality in both form, subject and style, resulting in fragmented depictions of persona that tread the line between masculine and feminine, lyricism and line, poetry and filth; beauty and chaos.

Her work merges figurative expressionism with abstraction, often largely chaotic and ranging from large-scale practice that explores the physicality of mark making using acrylic, spray paint and graphite to smaller works that retain the same emotional dialect.

She explores and seeks to be in service of the personal and collective wounds of the Self, honouring totality by honouring fragmentation through a broken language of text, colour, image and emotion.

Tiziano Summo is an Italian artist who's installations examine the complex relationships between art and science, nature and technology, life and death.

He believes that only by combining different subjects can one create something truly unique. With mortality as a central theme, Tiziano challenges contemporary belief systems, exploring the uncertainties at the heart of the human experience. His practice is based on a simple truth: to truly embrace life, one must face death.

His work has been published in international art magazines such as FOA and has been exhibited at The Other Art Fair London and Salone del mobile di Milano, to name but a few. This odyssey towards awareness has taken Tiziano on a therapeutic journey of self-discovery and, in turn, invites us to stop, reflect and live.

Previous Exhibition'EN SON SEIN' by EMMA BOITTIAUX

En son sein, Emma Boittiaux’s ongoing photography series, focuses on the connection between women and their breasts, creating a space for them to open a dialogue with a part of our body that has always been over-sexualised. A sexualisation that the artist has been aware of from young age from the outside world, clashing with the discourse that was going on at home.

Her mother, a retired nurse with a lactation degree, held a support group at home to help women through their breastfeeding journey, where discussions were centred around women’s breasts without shame or judgement.

With En son sein, the artist likes to think that she is continuing her mother’s work, she does not have any medical knowledge so she keeps her mother’s memento going through her own language; sculpture. Each piece is thought through the testimony of the women it was made for. The result; a jewellery-like object that the artist had spent up to 40 hours making all by hand, like the hours her mother dedicated to the women she was helping.

Previous ExhibitionNYUA - STATE OF MIND

STATE OF MIND is the first complete series of paintings presented by NYUA, which takes us on a journey through the most recent chapter of the artist's life in London. The collection of mixed media paintings (mainly acrylic and pastel) follows a mould of personal experience and societal observation, which is visualised in explosive and colourful art pieces. Inspired by the different states of mind in recent years, NYUA captures personal conflicts, obstacles, achievements and blessings in his works, as well as the journey towards a balanced mind. Personal development is at the heart of the exhibition, in which each painting tells a story in itself. Each describes the steps taken and increasingly becomes a connected and harmonic piece, linking the chaos of the artist's mind. The final piece in the series is a statement symbolizing a new beginning and opening the doors to a new chapter to come.

With a degree in film, NYUA has been influenced by the aspect of narrative and has used his appreciation of symbolism and non-verbal communication in his paintings. Figures and forms, whether hidden or fully exposed, form a large part of his artistic identity and style. Their visual execution varies according to their symbolic meaning. In addition, NYUA draws inspiration from various cultures during her travels. In particular, a chapter of time, during which NYUA lived in South Africa, shaped his artistic journey and influenced his interpretation of brushstrokes and forms. These influences, combined with a deep love and appreciation of nature, animals, colours, patterns and music, have combined to create this collection and style of expression.

The series is a diary, made up of artworks that are therapeutic confrontations with inner demons, doubts, wishes and beliefs that address themes of growth, identity and the endless search for one's purpose in this world. The work progresses over the years and reflects the growth process of a young adult. Each painting takes a deeper look into the artist's chaotic mind and captures NYUA's observation through all senses. From the overwhelming madness of day and night life to the quiet periods of appreciation. From observing the wrongs and rights of society, which stimulates reflection on one's own role in it all, to a spiritually more balanced hope of becoming the person you want to be: Someone who has shed their worries and doubts, who is open to criticism and change, who is aware not only of their surroundings but also of the people around them, who not only knows what needs to be changed but turns their thoughts into actions, without losing their gratitude for all that is and has been.

Unmistakably innocent in pink, Adam Krishan Popli’s new painting series, marks a continuing exploration into the their life journey and a shift within the artist’s subject matter. Drawn from the inspiration of Adam’s poem written last year, whilst the world was on standstill due to Covid, Adam took time out to delve deep into past trauma and confronting a side to their self that they usually would blissfully ignore. Mental health is at the core of this series, as Adam translated a dialogue through the intimate process of layering their paintings, giving a visualization to the feelings they were transitioning through. "Beginning my creative process with a poem opened a narrative I was not prepared for. I knew it was imperative for me to take time in creative incubation and allow the space to nurture the fragility of vulnerable place I was in. The size, space and sensation of each painting allowed a process of delayering to occur, tapping into the unconscious space of the mind.
This series of work looks at the deeper levels of trauma and depression, which can remain unresolved and never fully dealt with. Each painting pays homage to my personal self-care and learning to love the individual I have become. The abstract visual language offers my audience a time to reflect and gain insight to the layers we all carry."

Guided by the darkness, the layers of untold wisdom opened to the light.

We couldn’t be more excited to announce that Juju’s is renewing its Art collection for its 2021 grand reopening! Join us on Friday 28th May for the launch of the exhibition ‘SAVE YOUR TEARS HONEY’ brought to you by the talented artist KEO, a multi-media artist from London.

With a degree in Illustration and a background in painting and mural art, KEO’s work is a celebration of colour and a balancing act of pattern, layers and form. Using an ever-increasing array of materials, KEO creates a chaotic harmony between polarising materials, weaving patterns and textures with bold images and text.

Her work is influenced by colour, pop culture, nature, music and the artists own experience in life. KEO’s work often depicts female beings and animals, with an interest of exploring the light and dark within life using a playful, imaginative, kitsch aesthetic.

Manon et Jacob are a film making and photography duo.

Once upon a time they were working independently in the creative industries, shooting for a multitude of brands. With international exhibitions, TV commercials, editorial and digital content under both their belts, things were going pretty well...

Until they stumbled upon one another work. At this point either jealously or comrade had to kick in. so they met all smiles but with fingers on triggers held under the table. Success! Soon they became inseparable and grew more deeply obsessed with one another’s work.

In early 2008, Manon et Jacob was formed, using their existing bodies of work to pave the way for a new aesthetic.

Now they work with brands, musicians and fashion houses creative campaigns and developing identities with photography with film.

They are all about shooting people unconventionally, they tell real stories in an offbeat manner, ever searching for the exuberant in all they capture for print, content, editorial and advertising.

Agave is arguably Mexico's most important plant. It has been used for millenia in food, drink and textiles. Subject to ancient myths and legends, agave is even depicted framing the Virgin de Guadalupe in Catholic iconography. However, the main use of this amazing plant is in the production of mezcal.

Connoisseurship of mezcal has brought Oaxaca into the spotlight as the 'heart of mezcal' country. Made infamous by Lowry's Under the Volcano, mezcal is both fuel and subject for many local artists and Oaxaca continues to host a thriving creative community. Some of Mexico's most prestigious artists came from this region, such as Rufino Tamayo and Manuel Alvarez Bravo, while others have pilgrimaged there from round the world, including Frida Kahlo, Leanora Carrington, Cartier Bresson and DH Lawrence.

This event launches an exhibition of graphic prints and photography showcasing Oaxaca, the heartland of mezcal production. There will also be presentations about traditional and contemporary art in Oaxaca and the relationship this has to modern day and historical production. The event will also be the opening of a six week show curated by Anna Bruce featuring a wealth of exciting artists from Mexico.

Sergio Falomir started Barrio Latino Project during his trip to South America helping local folk bands preserve their music and heritage. After a few months he had amassed a large collection of memories in the shape of music, film & photography.

This portrait collection documents the people he encountered on the road during his journey from Argentina to La Havana. Falomir's adventures on the road included walking in the last steps of Che Guevara, spending a night in the silver mines of Potosí, crossing the biggest salt dessert of the world, riding across the Death Road on a bicycle, surviving in the Amazon with a machete and a mosquito net, reaching the sacred mountain of Machu Picchu, dancing Cumbia in Barranquilla's Carnival and learning to grow coffee on Señor Antonio's farm.

With insights and contributions from writer and artists such as Karuki Murakami, Buzz Aldrin, Phillip Pullman, Seth Troxler and Hayden Kays, Special Request pulls apart TV and looks at it through fresh yet nostalgic eyes.
